Down to Earth Tree Care may apply for any permit on your behalf upon a qualified tree needing the corresponding work. Down to Earth Tree Care will not apply for a permit on your behalf if the tree does not meet the minimum requirements by the local jurisdiction.
Portland Tree Removal Permits:
All Street tree removals - They require replanting of an approved species as well.
Private trees 12" in DBH or greater - They require replanting of an approved species as well.

Before removing any tree on your property, and to determine whether you need a removal permit, contact the Planner on Duty at 503-618-2780 or POD@GreshamOregon.gov.
Any tree less than six inches in diameter measured at 4.5 feet in height may be removed without a permit. Outside sensitive areas trees 6-8 inches in diameter may also be removed without a permit. Relocation of a healthy tree is encouraged.
Trees in sensitive areas:
In the floodplain, hillside and geologic risk and natural resource overlays, trees more than six inches in diameter perform special functions, so they have special protections. Contact the Planner on Duty at POD@GreshamOregon.gov for specific regulations.
Regulated trees:
Trees more than eight inches in diameter, measured at 4.5 feet, are regulated trees. Except on properties in the Hillside, Habitat Conservation Area, or Flood Plain areas or as otherwise specified in the City's tree regulations:
Up to three regulated trees on an undeveloped or low density residential property 35,000 square feet or less may be removed within a 12-month period.
Six regulated trees on an undeveloped or low density residential a property over 35,000 square feet may be removed within a 12-month period.
You must obtain a tree removal exemption prior to removal of any regulated trees on your property.

Damascus Tree Permits:
Up to 2 trees per year can be removed from non-commercial and commercial properties without a permit being required.
Clackamas Tree Permits:
No permit is required for tree removal. Clackamas falls under Clackamas county jurisdiction.
A Permit is required for all street tree removals
A permit is required for all non-residentially zoned lots
A Permit is required for the following situations :
> The tree removal will occur within a required vegetated natural resource buffer protected by the Natural Resource Overlay District.
> The tree removal will destabilize a steep slope or geological hazard regulated by the Geological Hazard Overlay District.
> The tree removal affects an approved Landscaping Plan.
> The tree is protected by a recorded covenant, landscape easement, Heritage Tree designation, or other legal document.
A Permit is not required for pruning street trees - however the city does not tolerate practices sch as topping.

A Permit is required for all trees 6" DBH or greater measured at 4.5' from the ground
